I think you should definitely do the BASICS! ( Applying foundation, fake eyelashes, blush, etc.) Because most of the videos I've seen they for some reason assume everyone is an expert. So they forget to show the basics, which in my opinion are the most important parts!

well i think black eyeliner will look nice on any body but try going for a liht shade of pink or bronze for your skin, sometimes it depends on your age sometimes young girls would look good in pink,orange,bronze or gold eyeshadow.

I would use black or blue eyeliner and a color in your shirt. An then a lot of mascara. make it really thick.

Many people have actually become YouTube celebrities from their makeup tutorials - some people get so many subscribers and views that they would probably be recognized on the street by people who watch their videos. If you think it would be fun to share your knowledge of makeup through YouTube tutorials, that would not only be a cool thing for you to do, but you would be doing a favor to everyone who learns something from you. I have the same problemo but Do what ever you want to some things that might work is fast forward, don't tell anyone about it, Put on a wig, don't talk in it or just say to the people you know ';I don't care It's my life and do know what I don't care'; hope it helps somewhat but you don't have to do everything that I said they're just suggestions!!!!

Just go for it! If it's what you want to do, I'd say do it. I mean look at Lauren Luke (Panacea), she started off giving little video tutorials, now she has her own make-up line, has had various newspaper/magazine columns, and is getting a DS game!

If you have enough courage, go to a cosmetics counter in a department store and have one of the cosmetics girls give you a lesson. They usually do this for free, but it is always nice if you buy something from them because they work commission. Videos are hard because you can't ask questions! Best thing you can do is go to Macy's or Hecht's and have them apply the makeup they will show tell you and explain how to do it.

i'd like to see a 'professions' series where you can pick a job and do a look based on each of the jobs (an executive look, a look for moms that can be done in less than 5 min, forrest ranger, lion tamer, burlesque dancer, a nerdy computer programmer, anything!)

Avon has some good deals for palettes with makeup. Do you already have makeup to fill them?? Or do you want makeup AND palettes. MAC makes good empty ones...they are a bit pricey though. Also, try Alcone Co. (they also make the BEST sponges and eyelash curler!).

Lots of diffuse lighting coming from multiple angles can make a big difference in the amount of detail you get as well as eliminating unsightly shadows. First of all, you need to buy an eye shadow pallet with various colors included.


when you are applying the eye shadow, do soft streaks up and down instead of horizontally.


start out with green eyeshadow, leaving a space for some black eyeliner on your lid.


apply more shadow of green on the bottom and gradually become lighter towards the top of your eye.


than apply a peachy pink color (any pink shade will work..) just beneath your brows.


2nd step is eyeliner:


put it on normally and just add a tail at the end.


then put a very thin layer just below your eye.


then put on mascara. i'd recommend black.


i forgot to mention,


apply foundation all over your face and pink blush where your cheek bones are.


for your lips:


put on some pink lipstick and put a touch of gloss on top.

yea i think that you should do that because when alot of ppl use makeup on youtube they dont ever see what products that they use. i like to go on youtube and watch ppl apply their makeup and look and see whats in their makeup collection. this helps me with applying my makeup and things that i can buy to help my collection grow. and then when they finally show you the products the products that they used are the ones that you have to go all across state to get or either products that you have never heard of or products that are too expensive so you doing the other products instead is really good cause somebody might not have the exact product that you have but they may have the products that you suggest and it works just as well :D

EYES: Mac Shroom to highlight browbone and inner corners of eyes. Mac typographic for lid and smudge on lower lash line. Use Mac powerpoint gel liner or Mac pearlglide in wolf.. Use Mac zoomlash. Then lightly pencil in brows in fling if you have blond hair or spiked if your a brunette. For cheeks I would use Nars orgasm blush (yes thats the name) and Nars orgasm lipgloss.





You can get mac at your local department stores, like a Macys or maccosmetics.com. For Nars you can get at a local sephora. Or order Sephora.com





For hair use a 2 inch barral curling iron. instead of winding hair up from bottom. take a one inch section of your hair and starting from the root, wrap your hair around the iron.. this will create curls that look like this. then pin sections of your hair up and style to make it look like in the video.. good luck.

hm its hard to tell. i would put a light eyeshadow on your whole eye them black pencil eyeliner both ontop and underneith the eye then a nutrual colour up to the creas(like adarker brown) and then on the lower eyelid black eyeshadow or grey then smudge it in. then put some liquid liner on top and mascara and wola. haha im not sure how she does it but im just guessing. hope this helpes.





EDIT: oh and i LOVE miley cyrus haha
She has done a smokey eye


which what you have to do is apply dark grey eyeshadow to your eyelid and just above it then a thin line of it under your eye and black eyeliner on water line. Then apply black eyeliner to top lash line and SMUDGE and complete with a thickening mascara on top and bottom lashes.


She has fair skin so she uses a powder on her face and a nude lipstick.

I loved her makeup. It looks great, not overdone, and she plays up her eyes perfectly.





Here are some steps to doing your makeup like hers:


1. Start with a clean face.


2. Evenly apply liquid foundation with a damp sponge. I recommend Covergirl. Also with a Covergirl blush, sweep some blush lightly on the apples of your cheeks.


3. Dab some liquid foundation on your eyelids. This will serve as a base for your eye makeup. Covergirl is fine.


4. Pick a shimmery eyeshadow. Covergirl is inexpensive. But if you can splurge, get eyeshadows from Bare Escentuals. Purple shades go well for brown eyes. She has on a shimmery blue. Sweep on eyeshadow all over your eyelid. And also, dab a little of the same shade, maybe darker on the bottom, inside of your eyes. (Look at music video 1:14)


5. Use a thin pencil eyeliner and smudge it very thin on your top lid. And also line the bottom of your eyes with it.


6. Mascara time. This is important. I recommend anything from Maybelline. Double coat on top and single coat on bottom. Curl your eyelashes first, with an eyelash curler, for some extra drama. ;)


7. Lastly, lips. Choose a sweet pink-peach shade. Pick a long-lasting one with lots of gloss and sheen.

First use a cream eyesahdow in a white or ivory shade. Then doo an all over mint color (cream or powder) extending all the way to the eyebrow, remember light! Add a little of the darker green below the along the lower lashline.Highlight in either a ligh light green or ivory directly below the eyebrow and along where you would normally put eyeliner. Cover the whole eye area in shimmer powder And as for eyelashes it looks like she's wearing fake lashes but a doublethick coat of mascara and curling yours would probably hav almost the same effect with not as much effort. for the curling iron I tried it a few times and found that anything between a 1 1/2 and a 2'; will work just fine. And only use light hairpsray because nonspringy curls are no fun Hope that helps!

In the video, Ashlee's make-up artist probably wanted to focus on her eyes and play those up while keeping everything else neutral. When they did close-ups of ther face you could see that she used a smoky-eye effect on them. All you need is a matte black pencil liner, a black cream or gel shadow (don't use powder. It won't be heavy enough), volumizing mascara and a blending/smudging brush (use a brush with hair instead of a sponge. Sponges tend to erase rather than blend). First apply black liner on the inner top and bottom rims of your eyes. Then use your brush dipped into shadow and lightly draw a line very close to the lower lashline, then go over it with black shadow do intensify the look. Finally, apply two coats of mascara an the outer lashes for a sexy, doe-eyed look. a home recipe go to the ladies cosmetics part of the grocery store. get some of the facial mask stuff for cleaning skin


i forget its name but its the stuff you put it on all gooey , let it dry then peel it off. The aloe vera stuff is usually a nice shade of green. practice on a hand before trying your face.





anyway put your makeup on then the facial stuff


(dont put too near eyes etc.) when the stuff is dry


partially peel small patches so it just hangs like dead skin from your face. you may then dust all with flour or talcum powder

I would actually suggest taking a class about ettiquite (it might include make up) or modeling (it will include make up). I know of a good place in Chicago and sometimes she'll come to Minnesota called Kharisma. Do a search on Yahoo for Kharisma and it should come up. Check it out!!!

Put a light white eyeshadow on the inner thirds of your eyes and a smudged dark colour along the last line for the outer 2 thirds.

you have to find mileys bug eyes and then coat your face in pounds of airbrushed on makeup, false lashes, and hair extensions, followed by 5o dollar lip gloss and blush, and then you line the eyes in black marker, apparently, and dab on some glitter glue.





actually, that is prob how she did it, but here is how i would: find a stick of eyeliner that is a dark brown. line your upper eyes and then halfway on your bottom, blending it to look natural. coat with mascara after dabbing the brush on toilet paper to get rid of excess. brush on two coats, and finish with a cream gold eyeshadow

it looks like, she just uses a simple light grey eye shadow on the base of her eye lids, but dont use too much otherwise you wont acheive the softness of her eyes, it also looks like she uses a simple black liquid eye liner on the top, in a thin line along her lashes with a small wing at the end, and then a simple black eyeliner pencil on the bottom :)

How to Apply Your Makeup


STEP 1: FOUNDATION: After Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing your face apply a small amount of foundation to the tip of your index finger, dot on forehead, nose, cheeks and chin then blend in an upward and outward motion without leaving a line. Be sure to apply foundation over your eyelids and blend without leaving a line. Glance in the mirror to ensure there's no line. You can use a concealer to cover imperfections such as blemishes and dark spots. You can use our NATU-CLEAR to remove dark spots, even skin tone and skin discoloration.


STEP 2: TRANSLUCENT POWDER: Using a Powder Brush apply Translucent Powder in a downward motion for a smooth finish. Translucent Powder helps eye makeup and blush to go on smoother and blend better. It also keeps your face looking fresh and your Makeup will last longer.


STEP 3 EYE MAKEUP: Starting at your lash line, apply your Base Color first, then apply your crease color in the crease area. Apply your Highlight Color in the highlight color area, below the brow bone. Finally, blend the colors with a cotton ball or your fingertip to remove any obvious line. If the colors are too bright tone them down with a little Translucent Powder then apply your Mascara, and dust your entire face downward with Translucent Powder.


STEP 4 BLUSH: Your Blush should go on the apples of your cheeks to radiate when you smile. It should go no closer to your nose, but directly beneath the iris of your eye; below nostril-level and into your temple hairline. A good Blush Brush that's tapered for precise placement, is a must.


STEP 5 LIPSTICKS: Define the outline of your lips with a professional lip brush or lip liner pencil that closely matches the color of your lipstick. Then apply your lipstick and blend the liner with a lip brush. Start from the center working outwards.

usually in the light powder will reflect the light shining on your face. that's why when you see some people taking pictures when they're all made up, their face kinda stands out more. try getting a darker colored powder or foundation and maybe some bronzer too.
bronzer, tinted moisturizer, spray tan
well firstly, you can try and put much paler makeup....not something that would contrast completely with your complextion and exegterate your colour. or you could try using a darker shade of foundation on your face, use bronzers and earth tone make up coloures, bronze, brown caramel gold...etc theyl slightly darken your features and give u a brown hue around your face, this will lessen the whitnes on your face

Honey, no one will ever be able to tell you unless they personally sat next to her while the make-up was being applied. There are tons of make-up companies, and the professional make-up artists sometimes use their own, or some foreign high class, expensive brand.





Your best bet is to print out a still copy of a shot of her in the video and take it to the local Mac (or any other make-up retailer) and tell them you want to achieve this look and have them give you tips and show you products to help!

If i can remember she used a light white shimmer for eyeshadow and dark black eyeliner. I can tell if she is wearing fake lashes but im sure she had lots of mascara to make it llok dark. Hello. There was a music video in heavy rotation some years back on MTV and for the life of me I can't remember the group. It involved a girl who was dreaming she was at her job and there were big cutout faces of her on other girls and they were dancing in unison like a chorus line. She worked at a macy's type store selling cosmetics and the vid was very surreal. I, too, love Helena's makeup... (and gerard's too! he looks soooo fine!) I've never tried the look, but I'm thinking of it. First, I'd try putting on the white makeup to make your skin lighter/paler... and then use the red eyeshadow. Make sure to put it on high (close to the eyebrows) so you can see the red and also under your eyes... blend it in well! Then line your eyes with the red first, larger and thicker than what you'd put on the black so you can see the red liner.


Then use the black liquid liner, and put it on heavy around the bottom of the eyes. Also, try using a good eyelash plumping masscara to make your eyelashes seem bigger. If you want the full Helena effect, have your lips look pale... it'll make you look dead! lol :D

Why would you even want to look like that? I think it's hideous. They look plastic.
a thin layer of matching foundation and coverup. then a black eyeliner. they also curl their eyelashes and coat with black amscara. a clear lipgloss and soft blush finishes it.
Most of those girls use airbrushing so it is highly difficult to achieve that smoothed over look. I've heard good things about mineral make-up, lip gloss which is water-based, a smooth line using liquid eyeliner and very natural colours with eyeshadow etc.


Don't become too upset if you can't achieve it, I'm sure you're beautiful in your own way :)

Yes, she does look amazing. Finding a deep red wine color for your lips shouldn't be difficult at all, depending on how high of a quality you prefer. Try Maybelline, or have fun with Stargazer's many gorgeous shades. Sometimes the cheap stuff is actually pretty good.





I find if you use a lip liner a shade darker than the lip color you're using, and leave the inside of your lips a little lighter, you'll get a very sexy, dramatic look. If you're using straight black, make sure you line your lips as even as possible or they will look like a mess. Also, for black, fade the inside of your lips with a dark red or purple. If you practice and play around with it enough, they'll end up looking gorgeous.





Remember to moisturize your lips beforehand! No matter how much you try with your lip color, it will all be in vain. Cracked lips never look good. Also, after you moisturize, pat a little face powder over them and your color will stay in place longer.
